We've Got Spirit, Yes We Do!

I recently posted about the PANTENE VOXBOX I received from Influenster. Not long after I got word that I would also be receiving the Spirit VoxBox as well! This was an exciting box because it featured fun products from 4 different brands.

The first thing I saw when I opened this up was a sampler with two different types of Yogi Tea. The two flavors I received were the Green Tea Kombucha, which supports immune and digestive functions, and Green Tea Blueberry Slim Life, which energizes and supports a dieting program. The card that comes with the two teabags also has a $1 off coupon for a purchase of any box of Yogi Tea. I've tried the Green Tea Kombachua since I opening this box and it was quite yummy! Each tea bag also has a cute little quote or saying on it, such a cute little detail!

Next up in my box was a Snicker's Crisper Bar! This was really exciting for me because I love chocolate {and sweets in general} but try not to keep them in my apartment. This package contains two squares of crisp rice, milk chocolate, caramel, and peanuts. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

There were three deluxe sized on-the-go wipette's from Sweet Spot Labs. They are 98% natural and made by women, for women. The three scents that I received my box are Grapefruit Verbena, Neroli Mandarin,  and Vanilla Blossom. These are a really handy product for them to include in these boxes, yet they are not something that I am likely to use. I will probably see if my mom wants them, because they are a very convenient thing to keep in your purse.

The last thing was probably what I was most surprised to find in the box. It was a full-sized Lovatics by Demi Lovato Lip and Cheek Tint by NYC in the color Cheeky Pink. I'm a huge fan of NYC products and I had recently seen a few reviews of these new tints that were released. I have to practice using this on my cheeks a bit more, because it tends to dry fairly fast after applying. However I really enjoy the color I get when I apply this to my lips. The only downsides are that you need to exfoliate your lips before applying otherwise the product accentuates any dry patches on your lips and the product is practically impossible to get off of your fingers because it's a stain.

This was a great VoxBox to receive and I am so excited by everything i've gotten to try out. If you haven't already signed up for Influenster you should consider it. Not only do you have the opportunity to possibly receive future VoxBox's, but they also have reviews on over 1 million products on their website! It's a great resource to look at for future purchases.

Wishful Wednesday: Bralettes

Bralettes are the perfect comfy alternative for the warm summer months, which is why they are the subject of this week's Wishful Wednesday! Retailers like Free People are known for their classic bralettes, but a much more affordable options with just as good quality are those from Aerie. Aerie is known for having comfortable and cute intimates and pajamas and these bralettes are no exception. With lots of lace, plunging necklines, and fun colors i'm officially obsessed!

{Look at the lace sleeves and back detail!}

Smoother Strands With Pantene!

I am super excited to say that I received my first VoxBox from Influenster recently! For those of you who don't know about Influenster it is "a community of over 1.5 million social savvy shoppers that: stay on top of the latest product news & expert tips, review products and share honest opinions with brands and the community, and test products for free based on social media influence".

I have seen plenty of Influenster reviews on YouTube thanks to the many beauty guru's I follow. After watching their reviews I would think about how fun it would be to receive my own VoxBox. After I started this blog I decided to bite the bullet and sign up Influenster. I love trying beauty products and writing reviews is something that I would like to post on my blog. Not long after signing up I received an email that I was chosen to receive the Pantene VoxBox.

When I first opened my box I was really excited that I had received a deep conditioner to try out. I've always been curious to try one and had even been looking into purchasing something similar. The product I received through my Influenster VoxBox is the Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Smooth and Sleek Deep Conditioner. It claims to be a miracle conditioner for those with frizzy strands. I personally struggle with lots of frizz and fly-away baby hairs so I felt like this product was going to be a perfect fit for me.

I've used this product about 5 times since receiving it and have to say that I actually notice a difference! I use this every time that I wash my hair, which is every 2-3 days. I apply it at the tips of my hair as the directions say, but I only work the product up about 3/4 of the way up my hair. I try and keep conditioner away from my roots because I have extremely oily hair. I've noticed that when I apply conditioner to my roots my hair gets greasy within a few hours. All you do after applying it is wait three minutes and then wash the product out. Once my hair has dried after using this my hair is so soft. I've never used a conditioner that made such a difference in the texture of my hair.

Overall I am very happy with this product and I plan on using it all up! I may even repurchase it instead of buying a regular conditioner from now on {bonus: this product is only $4.99 at Target}. I'm not normally one to spend a lot of money on hair products, I would much rather spend my money on makeup related items, however I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who has hair similar to mine.

T-Shirt Dress

One of the easiest and comfiest pieces in my closet is this T-Shirt dress from Forever 21 {similar, also love this one}. The material is so ridiculously soft that it feels like i'm wearing a lounge shirt yet the fact that it's a dress makes it look like I put some effort into my outfit.

Previously I have had trouble finding a t-shirt dress that was flattering to my figure. Most of them were way too boxy and made me cringe whenever I looked in the mirror. However, I was determined to find one and am so glad I did! This one works because there are seams going vertically along the dress, so it's slightly more form fitting along the top.

Styling these dresses is so easy! In these pictures I paired it with a gold layered necklace from Forever 21 and my white Nike Court Tradition II Leather Sneakers. I have plans to break this out soon {where are you spring?!} and pair it with some colorful scarfs and my favorite jean jacket.

What's your favorite way to style a T-Shirt dress?

Wishful Wednesday: Kent Stetson

If you've ever attended StyleWeek you've seen and heard of Kent Stetson. He is an amazingly talented handbag designer who is worn by everyone who is anyone in the Providence area. During the StyleWeek shows the runway is filled with his unique clutches.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to receive my first Kent bag, the Calypso Clutch. Let's just say that since then i've been absolutely obsessed. Even though the designs are loud and crazy they can easily be worn with so many great outfits {check out how I wore my bag recently to the IFS Spring Fashion Show here}.

Since then i've been eyeing all of his other designs, because I plan on growing my collection over the years. They are such well-made quality bags that really make an outfit. There truly is nothing like them out there!

While it's really hard to choose a favorite, I think the Lipstick Clutch needs to be my next one. If you know me at all you would know I have a very large lipstick collection {check it out here}. I kind of want to get myself this bag after I graduate from college.

Project Pan Update #5

Time is flying by on this project! I have to say, i'm really enjoying seeing all of the progress that i'm making week by week.

I have officially finished 7 of my 15 products, that's half way through! This project is going to end at the end of this month so I feel like i'm making good progress! I know I won't finish everything, but i'm impressed with my progress regardless.

1. Rimmel London BB Cream
I've been trying to mix this with anything and everything to get it to go faster. Lately i've been using it with a mix of moisturizer and a liquid highlighter from YSL. It goes on a bit smoother that way, but I still don't really like it.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (FINISHED)

3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This is probably the product that I expected to be gone soon, and now i'm not even sure if i'll finish it before this project is over! I love it though, so i'm not complaining.

4. L'Oreal Voluminous Full Definition Mascara (FINISHED)

5. Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara (FINISHED)

6. Lancome Lash Primer (FINISHED)

7. Elf Eyebrow Kit
Not too much to say on this, but i'm slowly making that pan larger!

8. NYX Natural Eyeshadow Palette
I finished an entire eyeshadow!! I think this is the first time i've ever completely used an eyeshadow, so i'm pretty excited about that. I'm hoping to finish up the peachy shade soon, and i've been focusing on the light brown shade quite a bit.

9. Nivea Kiss of Milk and Honey Soothing Lip Care
The texture of this is starting to change a bit now that i'm getting towards the bottom. The change isn't a bad one, it just feels a little bit different. I'll be glad to be done with this so that I can work on one of the million other chapsticks I own {although I really love this one!}.

10. Bite Beauty Luminous Cream Lipstick in "Fig"
I haven't touched this all week....whoops. I accidentally broke it, so that makes it really hard to apply because I have to be super careful. I still plan on finishing the rest of it, but I need to really focus on using this one for the weekends.

11. Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover (FINISHED)

12. Vaseline Healthy Hand and Nail Cream
I have only a few more days of this left! Just like the chapstick i'm ready to get this one done so that I can start using up other lotions in my collection.

13. Lancome High Resolution Night Cream (FINISHED)

14. Kate Spade "Live Colorfully" Perfume Sample
Now that i'm done with the Calvin Klein sample, I can focus on this! Not quite sure how I feel about it yet. When I first spray it, i'm not a huge fan, but after a while the scent starts to grow on me.

15. Calvin Klein "Euphoria" Perfume Sample (FINISHED)
     Finally done, hallelujah!

Dealing with Stress

Lately i've been so overwhelmed with everything going on around me, which is sadly the reason why I haven't been posting as frequently as I would like. This past week alone I had four exams {three of which were accounting}, a presentation, it was the beginning of the cross country preseason, I put a deposit down on an apartment, and my email has been blowing up more than usual. While individually those things aren't too bad, when they're all happening simultaneously it can be really stressful. That brings me to today's post, some tips for how I deal with stress.

1. Read A Book
Whenever things get overwhelming I like to take a step back. A great way to do this is by reading a chapter or two of a great book. It helps distract you and allows you to forget about the things that were stressing you out. After reading for a little I feel so relaxed and ready to conquer my tasks for the day!

2. Go For A Run/Walk
Getting outside can make such a difference in your entire attitude. If i'm overwhelmed to the point where I feel frustrated I either go for a quick run, head to the gym, or even just take a quick walk around campus. This simple activity helps get the blood flowing and allows me to take some deep breaths to refocus.

3. Watch An Episode On Netflix
This is probably the method I use most often! I love watching tv shows on Netflix, and if i'm spending hours working on a huge project or paper, i'll take a break every so often and watch an episode of a quick show on Netflix {my go to right now is New Girl, it's so funny!}.

4. Take A Coloring Break
For Christmas this year I got some coloring books for adults, and I have to say it is amazing how great I feel after I spend a half hour or so coloring! I had heard that this was an activity proven to relieve stress, and it really is! Check out some of the books I love here and here.

5. Paint Your Nails
Lately i've found myself taking breaks during my homework and study sessions to paint my nails. It's perfect because by the time they dry I am ready to get back to work!
